Western Isles v Shetland Isles

The historic first football match between the Western Isles and Shetland took place on Friday 15th September 2006 at Goathill Park in Stornoway. The original kick-off time of 6.00pm was delayed by 30 minutes because the delayed flight from Inverness for the Shetland Team.

The final score was 3-1 to the Western Isles, who were awarded the inaugural trophy - the International Island Games Challenge Trophy, sponsored by BP.
